Dr. Alexander Ilic

Dr. Alexander Ilic is founder, CTO, and Chairman of the Board. Alex is Dacuda’s visionary and the driving force that brought Dacuda together.

Alex has an interdisciplinary background. He holds a PhD in Management, Technology, and Economics from ETH Zurich and a MSc in Computer Science from TU Munich. He also studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Alex received several grants including a scholarship of the Swiss National Science Foundation in 2009. Alex has two years of industry experience as head of a business unit and five years as software engineer. He also worked as independent consultant for companies in the SAP domain to optimize their internationalization and growth strategies.

Hans-Peter Metzler

Hans-Peter Metzler is an Investor and Member of the Board. Hans-Peter is the licensing and IP expert at Dacuda.

Hans-Peter Metzler is the CEO of Photeon, a leading provider of photonic IP, components and subsystems for use in optical communications and broadband data transmission. Prior to that, he founded NewLogic and has grown the company according to Gartner to the nr 1 silicon IP provider for Bluetooth and WLAN in the world. NewLogic has been acquired by Wipro, the Indian IT giant by end of 2005. Hans-Peter has more than 20 years of international experience in R&D, product development and the information technology industry. He has held various management positions in different organizations, also serving as Vice President of the Microcontroller Division at Siemens Semiconductor Group.

Erik Fonseka

Erik Fonseka is founder, Head of Product Development and Member of the Board. Erik is one of the original founders and the lead software architect.

Erik holds a MSc. in Computer Science from ETH Zurich. He has gained consolidated knowledge in Computer Vision with focus on image processing and artificial intelligence/machine learning techniques. Erik successfully participated in the Nanogram RoboCup 2007. Erik is a passionate programmer and has a proven track record in solving complex image processing problems. He has several years of experience as software engineer.

Prof. Dr. Elgar Fleisch

Prof. Dr. Elgar Fleisch is Investor and Member of the Board. Elgar is the primary scientific advisor of Dacuda and in charge of university relationships.

Elgar Fleisch is Professor of Information Management at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics at ETH Zurich. He is also Professor of Technology Management and Director of the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). His research focuses on the economic impacts and infrastructures of ubiquitous computing. In the Auto-ID Lab he and his team develop, in concert with a global network of universities, an infrastructure for the “Internet of Things”. All research projects are joint efforts of industry and academia; its results have been published in more than 200 scientific journals and books. Elgar Fleisch has served as CEO for IMG Americas and is a co-founder of several university spin-offs.
